We'll try and keep this page updated with information about our different efforts, and provide a bit of insight into what's happening behind the scenes. We'll also provide a breakdown of our sales and donations once those numbers are available.

What is this?

This site was put together as a way to allow for artists to collaborate in a way that can support our local community here in the Twin Cities. When a new set of jewelry is released under the Creative Resistance section, it will be associated with an artist who chooses which cause they'd like profits to be donated to. In most cases, 100% of Creative Resistance profits will be directed toward the artist's cause of choice. Sparkly Rocketship takes enough out of the sales to cover materials, wear and tear on our equipment and a portion of labor for assembly and shipping and such, which amounts to around $2 per piece of jewelry sold and $0.50 or less for buttons. We want to be able to sustain this project for the long term, so this model should work for now!

We also offer non-Creative Resistance jewelry where a portion of profits are donated to selected causes but the bulk of the sale can go to directly supporting Sparkly Rocketship's operations. Additionally, during checkout, you'll have the opportunity to add a donation to Sparkly Rocketship to help us continue our offline efforts around whistle and eye wash-making, button distribution, scaling up production and other outlets for directly supporting our local communities.

Who are you working with?

We maintain a list of artists and shops that we are partnering with for this effort. We're also tracking all the causes we're supporting directly through this site and indirectly through products sold via our partner shops. It takes a village, and we've got a wonderful community! We'll continue building our network and offering more community-supported creations!
